Career coaching can help if you feel stuck in a job you dislike, are facing job insecurity, feeling lost or directionless, wanting to level up, change fields, and more. It can help you get clarity around your goals, strengths, and weaknesses to map out a plan for career success.
Find your path forward and unleash your potential.
We spend nearly a third of our lives working, so why spend it in a job we don’t love? I can help you figure out your career direction, goals, professional development, skillsets, and unravel any job difficulties so you can enter your ideal job with clarity and confidence. My approach is holistic and open-minded, helping address the underlying issues and planning practical ways of addressing them.
01 Initial meeting
In our first session we’ll discuss where you’re at, what you’d like to change, and where you want to end up. Then if you are happy with the session and feel we are a good fit, we book in the next session. All sessions are 60 minutes and can be held in person at my Wellington CBD office, online, or by phone.
02 We begin the work
In the second to fourth sessions (the number of sessions varies depending on the depth and scope of issues you want to cover) we look at different options and ‘try on’ different therapeutic techniques and strategies. The sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, or monthly depending on your preference. In between meetings you get to try out the strategies in real life to see what does and doesn’t work for you.
03 Following up
When you’re happy with the plan we’ve developed and the progress you are making we schedule one or two follow-up sessions. These are invaluable for accountability purposes to make sure you’re still on track, and allow us to fine-tune strategies and deal with any unexpected obstacles.
Coaching provides an effective support system for achieving personal and professional goals by helping you get clear on what you want and how you are going to make it happen.
Working with a coach enables you to take a step back within a safe and supportive environment and review where you are currently, clarify where you want to go, expand and evaluate the range of options available to you, focus on strengths and resources to overcome obstacles, and create practical plans to enable you to attain your objectives.
During the first session we will establish your goal(s) for coaching, and discuss some background information. The number of sessions required varies widely, depending on individual circumstances, but averages around 4-6 sessions. Often this is followed by 1 or 2 follow up sessions to monitor and fine-tune progress.
Coaching sessions last 60 minutes and can be held in my office or online.
All sessions are confidential. The only exception is if there is concern for your safety or the safety of another person.
